Real Word is an educational application that combines Augmented Reality (AR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to facilitate English learning in a practical and interactive way. Using the phone’s camera, the user points to everyday objects, and the app recognizes the item, displaying its translation, example sentences, and audio pronunciation.
This approach aligns with studies highlighting the potential of augmented reality to make language teaching more dynamic and contextualized, promoting greater engagement and content retention (FERREIRA; RIBEIRO, 2024). The project aims to modernize the language learning process, making it more accessible and connected to the user’s real-life experiences, reinforcing the importance of technology as a supportive educational tool and fostering student autonomy.
