Water is an essential element for life and for the development of civilization. According to Hippocrates (460–354 BC), a Greek physician considered the father of medicine, “humans need water not only to protect their health but also to ensure their quality of life.”
“Access to safe drinking water and basic sanitation is a fundamental human right for poverty reduction, improvement in quality of life, and sustainable development” (United Nations, UN).
