Abstract

Family farming in Brazil, although important for food production and job creation, is one of the sectors that consumes the most water resources, highlighting the need for more sustainable water use. In this context, automated irrigation emerges as a solution, allowing efficient water use by activating the system only when necessary. To make the solution even more sustainable, the opportunity to use renewable energy sources to power the automated system was identified.
