According to Neumann (2013), the physical layout of industrial facilities is one of the most critical decisions in factory design, as it directly affects operational costs, process flexibility, and workplace safety.
This project aims to improve the layout of the wood cutting line at Madeireira e Serraria Paraná LTDA, responsible for manufacturing boxes for vegetables and fruits, by applying lean manufacturing tools to increase productivity, reduce waste, and improve operators’ ergonomic conditions.
