REUSE OF CONDENSATE WATER FROM AIR CONDITIONING UNITS FOR IRRIGATION
Keywords:
Condensate water, Irrigation, SustainabilityAbstract
Water scarcity is one of the greatest environmental challenges the world faces today, affecting many regions, including several areas in Brazil. Conscious use and reuse of water resources have become essential to ensure sustainability and environmental preservation. This project proposes the reuse of condensate water generated by air conditioning units—water that is normally discarded—for irrigating small areas such as gardens, lawns, and home vegetable plots.
Although this water is not potable, it is suitable for irrigation, contributing to the conservation of drinking water and the reduction of waste. The collection and distribution of the water are carried out automatically, using pumps and soil moisture sensors. The sensor monitors the moisture level, activating irrigation only when necessary, which optimizes water use and promotes plant health.
