Evaluation of the Use of Natural Coagulants in Effluent Treatment Using Factorial Design
Keywords:
Okra extract, Low toxicity, Natural coagulants, SustainabilityAbstract
Rapid industrialization increases the generation of effluents with a high load of suspended solids. Conventional chemical coagulants, such as aluminum sulfate, generate toxic sludge containing heavy metals. The use of natural coagulants, such as okra extract, emerges as a biodegradable, low-cost, and low-toxicity alternative, with the potential to replace synthetic coagulants in simplified treatment plants.
