Implementation of the FIFO System Combined with the 5S Methodology for the Organization of Laboratory Supply Inventories

Abstract

The lack of organization and standardization in laboratory inventories can lead to product expiration, waste, rework, and financial immobilization. Methods such as FIFO and 5S contribute to greater control, safety, and efficiency. This project aimed to implement FIFO combined with 5S to improve organization, reduce losses, and increase the traceability of laboratory supplies.
