Reuse of Condensed Water from Air Conditioning Units for Irrigation

Water scarcity is one of the greatest environmental challenges the world faces today, affecting many regions, including several areas of Brazil. The conscious use and reuse of water resources have become essential to ensure sustainability and environmental preservation. This project proposes the reuse of condensed water generated by air conditioning units—water that is normally discarded—for the irrigation of small areas such as gardens, lawns, and home vegetable plots. Although this water is not potable, it is suitable for irrigation, contributing to the conservation of drinking water and the reduction of waste. Water collection and distribution are carried out in an automated manner, using pumps and soil moisture sensors. The sensor monitors moisture levels and activates irrigation only when necessary, optimizing water use and promoting plant health.
