Wearable Technology for Urban Inclusion: Integration with Smart Traffic Lights
Keywords:
Urban inclusion, Smart traffic lights, SustainabilityAbstract
The growth of cities and the increase in vehicle and pedestrian traffic demand innovative solutions that ensure safety and accessibility for all. People with reduced mobility often face difficulties crossing streets within the time allocated by conventional traffic lights. In this context, the project proposes the development of wearable technology integrated with smart traffic lights, capable of automatically detecting the user’s presence and adjusting crossing time. The initiative employs established technologies, such as Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and RFID, applied in a novel way to promote autonomy, safety, and urban inclusion.
