The article aims to study the carbonation in concrete with high levels of Filer Limestone (LF) protected by a protective film (acrylic paint). The results of compressive strength at 28 and 91 days of age, carbonate depth at 3, 6, 9 and 12 weeks are presented, as well as the carbonation coefficient (kc). The results show that the application of the protective film significantly reduces the carbonated depth and consequently the kc. It was also possible to verify that as the FC content increases in the mixtures there is a reduction in the compressive strength and an increase in the carbonated depth and kc. The incorporation of fly ash (FA) is debited in the FC70CV10 line, the unsatisfactory performance, probably due to the consumption of the alkaline reserve arising from the reactions of secondary C-S-H formation. It is concluded that the application of the protective film significantly increases the carbonation resistance of the studied concretes, especially of FC70CV10P.
