Abstract

It is understood that the success in the construction of a undertaking, executed in the civil engineering, is directly related to the execution accuracy in accordance with the schedule, as well as to practices which aim at the austerity of the builder’s
financial resources. A way of achieving these ends is to make projects compatible, before the construction phase of the undertaking. To demonstrate the veracity of this concept, examples of two works are presented, where there was no compatibility in the projective phase, leading to discoveries of incompatibility at the construction site, which generates unexpected costs for consulting, rework, disposal of inputs and delays on schedule. It is also presented, through the Revit software, the compatibility between the architectural, structural and hydrosanitary projects in the construction of a
townhouse. The choice of this BIM tool was due by the contribution that the company Autodesck offers with the availability of the software free of charge to students, and the efficiency of the software, which generates a 3D model, simultaneously with the creation of the floor plan. This compatibility, allowed the visualization of possible interferences between the disciplines covered, showing that it is possible, at the construction site, to work with a more assertive and reliable project.
