Presentation
The Journal of Innovation and Science (JOINS), published by UniFacens, is a free electronic journal dedicated to disseminating research in the fields of engineering, architecture, technology, health, and related areas. It targets researchers, professors, students, and professionals, whether affiliated with Facens or not. The journal aims to present innovative research results, promoting broad access, partnerships, and scientific collaboration, with a strong emphasis on the interaction between universities, industry, and government (the triple helix model). With over 500 partner institutions in Brazil and abroad, JOINS seeks to become a relevant channel for high-quality scientific dissemination and rapid publication.
Current Issue
The preface to the JOINS Magazine edition presents the Plugin: Market and Innovation event, held in November 2025 at UniFacens, as a strategic space for integration between academia, the market, and society. Over four days, the initiative promoted debates and experiences focused on innovation, technology, and transformations in contemporary careers, through activities such as lectures, workshops, project presentations, and thematic fairs, fostering the exchange of knowledge and the building of collaborative networks.
In this context, the relevance of the UPX curricular unit stands out as an articulating element between academic training and market demands. Focusing on the development of technical and socio-emotional skills, combined with socio-environmental awareness and entrepreneurship, the program provides students with practical and immersive experiences, involving the resolution of real problems and interaction with different actors in the innovation ecosystem.
Additionally, the text highlights the interdisciplinary approach adopted, encompassing global themes such as sustainability, smart cities, renewable energies, digital transformation, and climate change. These themes are developed in a way that stimulates critical thinking and entrepreneurial action among students.
Finally, the preface highlights the positive impact of the presented projects, reaffirming the institutional commitment to training professionals capable of facing contemporary challenges with socio-environmental responsibility, technical competence, and an innovative vision
